Who is Choose Tallahassee?

Choose Tallahassee was organized by a group of community volunteers who felt that our wonderful community had much to offer to relocating retirees – mild climate, high quality of health care, affordable cost of living, countless learning opportunities (through FSU, FAMU and TCC) and abundant recreational offerings (sports, arts, outdoors and more). We felt that these individuals and families could also be a major contributor to the economic growth of our area and, perhaps more importantly, could, through their volunteer efforts, make our communities more exciting and caring places to live. Our initiative quickly gained support from a large number of our community organizations and individual community leaders. The Choose Tallahassee Action Team (CTAT) is made up of a group of over 60 local volunteers representing a large variety of local businesses, government entities and agencies with the same goal of promoting Tallahassee as one of the country’s best retirement destinations. Represented entities include but are not limited to:

  • Capital Health Plan
  • Council on Culture and Arts
  • Capital Region YMCA
  • Tallahassee Memorial Hospital
  • City of Tallahassee
