Choose Tallahassee is excited to announce the appointment of Emily Sutton as its new Executive Director. A Tallahassee-based professional with a diverse background, Emily brings a strong foundation in hospitality, leadership, and community engagement to the role.
Emily earned a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Hospitality Management from the University of Denver. Her professional experience includes positions at Snooze A.M. Eatery, Capital City Bank, and the Florida House of Representatives. Through these roles, she has developed a well-rounded career spanning hospitality, event planning, and the public sector.
A Career Built On Versatility
Emily’s career path has been anything but one-dimensional. Each position has allowed her to hone a different skill set, all of which have shaped her into the dynamic leader she is today. She played a pivotal role in launching Snooze A.M. Eatery’s Houston market, led event coordination efforts at Capital City Bank, and later transitioned into public service. At the Florida House of Representatives, she supported the legislative process and managed high-level administrative operations in the Clerk’s Office.
Leading With Purpose
In addition to her new role with Choose Tallahassee, Emily co-manages Lake Iamonia Lodge, a rustic North Florida event venue. There, she blends her expertise in event planning with her passion for creating experiences that are meaningful and memorable. She also serves as a fourth-generation shareholder of the Proctor Dealerships, contributing to event coordination for community outreach and philanthropic initiatives.

A proud Tallahassee native, Emily chose to return to her hometown to continue growing both personally and professionally. She values the city’s natural beauty, character, and sense of community; all qualities that have always drawn her back. As she steps into her newest leadership role, Emily is committed to helping others feel at home in the city that has always made her feel welcome.
