Beginner Wheel

This 8-week class is designed to teach the fundamentals of working with clay on the potter’s wheel–no prior experience is necessary. Students will learn the process of making pots on the wheel from start to finish including wedging, centering, throwing basic shapes, trimming, and glazing.

Class discussions will include clay, glaze, equipment, safety, tools, and the firing process to provide students with a fuller understanding of the pottery process.

Registration is available online. We ask students register prior to the class as spots are limited. Fee: $260 for LeMoyne Members, $270 for Non-members Supplies: Tuition includes one 25 lb. bag of clay, use of studio tools and firing of work.
